I can't believe the difference! After changing my stock pipes, I loved the sound... but the performance and smoothness suffered. Popping, backfires were bad enough, but "hiccups" from a complete stop sometimes caused a stall which was always embarrassing and gave others the perception of being a novice rider. After installing the TFI the bike is so smooth that at times it seems like a different scooter. Purrs like a kitten and no "lurching" when traveling at lower speeds of the highways. No more lean, flat spots when really, really getting on it at higher rpm's. While some like the Commander, I heard from others who never could get it tuned in after more than a year of trying different maps. The TFI worked great right out of the box with some suggested settings. I'm tinkering a bit now, but haven't changed much. If you have a fuel injection system, you should make the TFI the priority after-market device after doing any exhaust/intake modifications to your scooter. The only down-side, and this may be perception, is my pipes SEEM somewhat quieter, but this may just be the lack of coughing, popping, backfires and stuttering. Even if this is the case, it's most definitely worth it. Big Country |
